As you may already know, a new version of Raspberry Pi OS, codenamed Trixie, was recently released. According to the changelog, it introduces numerous improvements to system management (including an expanded Control Center) and updated versions of bundled software.

Hudiy with Trixie

The new Raspberry Pi OS release potentially brings enhancements to audio (newer versions of PipeWire and WirePlumber), Bluetooth (updated BlueZ) and graphics rendering (updated labwc and Mesa).

We’ve already begun the work of porting Hudiy to Trixie and will keep you updated on our progress. We’d also like to emphasize that the Hudiy update for Trixie will be available free of charge.

We aim to release Hudiy for Trixie before the end of this year.

Bookworm support

We plan to continue supporting Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm with maximum feature parity with Trixie for as long as it remains supported by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. This means you’ll still be able to install and use the Hudiy on Bookworm.

Versioning

To distinguish between Hudiy versions for different Raspberry Pi OS releases, we’re planning to introduce the following versioning scheme:

  • 1.x – Hudiy for Bookworm
  • 2.x – Hudiy for Trixie
  • 3.x – Hudiy for the next Raspberry Pi OS release in the future
  • … and so on.

As always, we encourage you to follow us on Instagram, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook.
