Android Auto forced into portrait mode.

Post by Omardigio »

Hello everyone, I'm Omar.
I discovered Hudiy today and I have to say its interface is better than Openauto pro.
However, I'm encountering the exact same problem I had with Openautopro: when I connect to Android Auto wirelessly via the Carlinkit dongle, Android Auto remains in portrait mode instead of landscape. I've tried changing the DPI, x, and y values, but nothing changes.

Hello, Android Auto is natively supported in Hudiy — you don’t need a CarlinKit dongle. To use Android Auto wirelessly, enable the hotspot in Hudiy settings (it’s enabled by default) and pair your phone over Bluetooth directly in Hudiy.

On the phone side, Android Auto works by creating a virtual screen that is then streamed to the head unit, similar to a remote desktop. It’s possible that portrait mode is being forced by the phone itself or by some installed application.

We don’t test Android Auto with CarlinKit. We focus on native support, as it provides more capabilities (e.g., retrieving media metadata, navigation maneuvers, or more configuration options). That said, we just checked with several of our phones, and Android Auto via CarlinKit displays correctly on our side.

Try first connecting to Android Auto directly in Hudiy and check if the issue still occurs. You can connect either wirelessly or via USB.
