My boot time with an NVME from fully unplugged to in Hudiy is 17 seconds. Seems way faster than it was on the SD card. Screen is
1920p x 720p since it seems that matters.

Re: Pi 4b vs 5
has anyone observed performance differences between the ram variations 4/8 gb. heck even 16!
Re: Pi 4b vs 5
It is very similar to our measurements (~18 seconds) - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SyRNUv99DqMpault wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 6:55 am My boot time with an NVME from fully unplugged to in Hudiy is 17 seconds. Seems way faster than it was on the SD card. Screen is

And here i am not satisfied with 11 seconds from cold boot into hudiy and a further 10 seconds into AA.

A 4gb pi5 with active cooler, and 256gb 2242 nvme. Nvme is set on PCIe3, network wait time removed and I think that was it.

hi there,
does anyone have numbers on ram usage from hudiy. just wondering if 8gb is going wasted and 4 is plenty

Re: Pi 4b vs 5
During stress testing of Hudiy, we never saw RAM usage go higher than about 1200 MB for the whole OS. We mostly test on 4 GB variants of the Pi 4B and Pi 5.
That said, Chromium loves RAM – so if you’re running a lot of heavy HTML/JavaScript extensions in the background, the more RAM, the better.

Re: Pi 4b vs 5
We tested running Hudiy with disabled desktop environment (Lite version) and with the eglfs platform plugin included with Raspberry Pi OS. We didn't notice any significant difference in boot time between console mode and desktop mode, nor in performance - on either the Pi 4b or Pi 5.

Re: Pi 4b vs 5
I'm testing Hudiy on a CM5 with 64 GB storage and 16 GB RAM, it takes about 15 seconds to start, but I'll measure it properly in the coming days.
