Re: Old but still good BMW 5 series
I managed to fully program a BMW E60 iDrive controller and control the head unit interface using the Hudiy API. With the iDrive I can control CarPlay, Android Auto and the Hudiy itself. For communication with the iDrive I used a CAN/RS485 HAT from Waveshare. A friend of mine who owns an E60 with ...

Awesome update! I have a free spot in my E39 for such display and I think this one should fit https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/1.47inch_LCD_Module. Will it work with any available firmware?

Re: Cm6206 Output
I use Android but my wife has an iPhone and I bought Carplay dongle for her on aliexpress. No audio or video problems observedalex124.rh wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 1:07 pm My issues only occur during carplay. Do you use carplay? The siri muffled voice isn’t the sound card as it happens with any sound card.

Re: Cm6206 Output
My two cents to the topic might not be very helpful but I’m using the exact same cm6206 card with the same 5.1 to 4.1 mapping setup and everything works great. I have an ADUM3160 connected between the card and the rpi to eliminate ground loop. Maybe defective hardware in your case?

Re: Safe shutdown needed ?
I have Hudiy installed in my car for almost 4 months now and I didn't add any safe shutdown mechanism. I don't think it is necessary at all. I turn on/off my headunit few times a day and it still works perfectly fine. No filesystem corruption or issues with startup. Pi5 with nvme in my setup is ...

Old but still good BMW 5 series
Hi all! I wanted to share my build I did for my old BMW 5 series. At the very beginning huge thank you to the hudiy team for creating such amazing software. Before I started my build with hudiy I was a bit worried if the screen I chose wouldn't be too much since it's basically full hd but it works ...
