We are happy to announce that Hudiy 1.26/2.22 is now available. You can find the release highlights below:

API

We added the ability to set the dark/light theme color via the API.

Android Auto

We added an experimental flat buffering mode for the Android Auto and the Raspberry Pi hardware video decoder. The same mode is already used in CarPlay, but due to differences in video stream characteristics between CarPlay and Android Auto, it will remain an experimental opt-in feature for Android Auto for now. If we receive positive feedback, we will enable this functionality by default in the next release.

Autobox

We added a configuration option to set the audio delay on the dongle. If you experience audio stuttering in your setup, you can increase the audio delay, which will increase the audio buffer size on the dongle.

Companion app

We are pleased to announce that the Companion App is now available on the Google Play Store.

UI

We added the ability to adjust the red, green, and blue color levels, as well as gamma and contrast, for all rendering surfaces in Hudiy at once (Native UI, CarPlay, Android Auto, Reverse Camera). This can be useful for color calibration when the display panel has poor color reproduction.

Examples

You can also find a new example on our GitHub for handling resistive buttons (e.g., steering wheel controls) using the Hudiy API and a Raspberry Pi Pico 2: https://github.com/wiboma/hudiy/tree/main/examples/resistive_swc

We are also working on an OBD-II DTC example, which we will push to our GitHub soon.

You can download and install the update using the updater program – https://github.com/wiboma/hudiy/blob/main/README.md#updating

Please note that the updater performs an incremental update (version by version) to avoid the OS corruption during the update process. If you are using an older version of Hudiy, you may need to run the updater multiple times. You can check your current version in Menu -> Hudiy -> Settings -> About.

A description of all new features and configuration options is available on our GitHub in the updated documentation – GitHub.

As always, we encourage you to follow us on Instagram, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook.

Enjoy!
