I'm running an RPI 4 on Trixie with two different touch screens, one USB with HMI and one DSI.
The USB/HMI display is secondary and is located below the main physically and in the configuration.
I have both functioning and 4.1 channel audio with a "CM106 Like" 7.1 channel unbranded USB audio device.
The issue is that on boot the bottom touch screen doesn't work, but displays Hudiy.
The touch screen wont work until I unplug and re plug the 7.1 channel USB audio device, then BOOM, its fine.

On a potentially related note I can't get keyboard inputs even with "handleKeyboardEvents" : true.

I do not know how to diagnose this, can someone give me any pointers?

Usually, this kind of strange hardware behavior, especially with USB, can be caused by power issues. Raspberry Pi is very sensitive to voltage levels and in case of undervoltage, it may cut power to USB devices. What power supply are you using in your setup? You can also send the output of the dmesg command - it should show what's happening with the USB devices.
