Wireless Android Auto Connection Issues

Hello!
I've got essentially everything working, save for the ability to connect wirelessly. I've got the hotspot running automatically as 2.4Ghz, the bluetooth is paired, the companion app is set up. Wired AA works as well, and my phones seems to think that wireless is connecting and occasionally asks for me to select AA on the car screen. When I press connect over wifi in the AA settings on Hudiy it will say connecting... and eventually connection failed. Any advice on the best way to more forward?

Hello,
What hardware are you using? Is it a Raspberry Pi (Bookworm/Trixie) or x86_64? Are you using an external wireless adapter or the built-in one? Are you able to connect to the Wi-Fi network manually through your phone settings?

I'm using an old Surface Pro 3 running Debian Trixie. I'm using the internal wifi adapter and a usb bluetooth adapter that has BT4.0. I can, and it does automatically, connect to both the hotspot and bluetooth for the Surface. Have you had any issues with older wifi adapters or older standards of bluetooth? I've got another usb adapter in the mail that should do 5.3 and wifi 6E as my suspicion is there is some unseen issue there.

We haven't encountered this issue yet. From what we know, Android Auto prefers 5GHz networks but in our setups on Raspberry Pi Zero 2 and Pi 3B it works without any problems on 2.4GHz with every test phone.
Could you please send the logs from the $HOME/.hudiy/log directory? You can pack them into a zip and attach it to this thread. The logs will show whether Android Auto is attempting to connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Here they are! I've been doing quite a bit of fiddling to see if I could get it to work so they're quite long. The bluetooth controller ending in B1 is the usb one, the other is the built in.

Thank you for the logs. Based on the data, it appears that your phone is not connecting to the Bluetooth service provided by Hudiy, which is used for exchanging Wi-Fi network information.
This connection should be initiated by the phone. Did you pair your phone using the Bluetooth menu within Hudiy? You might also try clearing the Android Auto app data on your phone or reinstalling it to restore its default settings.
