Is hudiy setup to send this data or is it another limitation of autobox/carlinkit/carplay? i have song info coming through but i can't get phone call data on carplay to come through api

To receive voice call data, you need to pair your phone with the Raspberry Pi/Hudiy via Bluetooth.

yea i know. thats not my question though. im trying to see the call info when I am on a call through CARPPLAY. are you saying that i have to be connected to both the rpi and autobox bt to receive that info? is it not possible to just pull the nfo from carplay?

It is more reliable to retrieve voice call data over Bluetooth rather than relying on the dongle. Not all dongles transmit call metadata - this depends on their firmware, which isn't always easily updatable (especially on Autokit models) - and sometimes they only send the phone number without the contact name (probably some issues with charset encoding on dongle side). You can still be connected to CarPlay and get voice call metadata over Bluetooth.

ok. so im having an issue then because when i call someone it shows the wrong caller id but the number is correct and the same as whats on my phone

Please check if the phone number (including the international dialing code) matches the one saved in the phonebook and whether Hudiy has access to the contacts.

Yea. Same number showing but it doesn’t look like it’s formatted the same? Maybe that could be the issue. All my contacts are showing in Hudiy phone book but on phone the number shows +1 (xxx)-xxx-xxxx correctly but on hudiy it’s +1xxxxxxxxxx

Also. Is it possible to not have to connect to the BT on the pi to get the metadata working in an update? Kind of annoying to have it connected to multiple BT if it’s not necessary
