Hello,
I am building a custom head unit using Hudiy on a Raspberry Pi 3B. While the display works and rotates correctly, the touchscreen completely fails to respond after boot. However, if I stop Hudiy and switch to the OS desktop, the touchscreen works perfectly.
Here is my hardware and software environment:
- **Hardware:** Raspberry Pi 3B, Waveshare 8-inch DSI Touch Display (8-DSI-TOUCH-A, 800x1280), Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Go Pro USB
- **OS:** Raspberry Pi OS / Debian Trixie (64-bit)
### Current Symptoms:
1. When running Hudiy (in EGL/framebuffer mode), the display orientation is correct, but touch input is completely unresponsive.
*I have changed setting "rotation" : "LEFT", in main_configuration.json
2. When stopping Hudiy and starting the OS desktop (`sudo pkill hudiy` -> `sudo init 5`), the screen is rotated to landscape, and touch inputs work properly (tested via OS environment and `evtest`).

Re: Touchscreen not working with Waveshare 8-DSI-TOUCH-A on RPi3
Hello,
By default, Hudiy disables libinput so that the keyboard doesn't interfere with the console which remains active beneath Hudiy's interface. Try removing the line:
from the $HOME/.hudiy/share/hudiy_run.sh file then restart your Raspberry Pi and check if your touchscreen starts working.

Code: Select all

Re: Touchscreen not working with Waveshare 8-DSI-TOUCH-A on RPi3
I have removed export QT_QPA_EGLFS_NO_LIBINPUT=1 from hudiy_run.sh, then tocuh works functionality!
However, the touch coordinates were misaligned, so I commented out the udev rule.
It seems there was a conflict because the rotation is already handled in the hudiy configuration.
Thank you very much!
