Herbie A.I. w/ HUDiy Head Unit in my Love Bug

Okay... the install of the code went flawlessly. No errors (that I could see) and it rebooted perfectly.

However, I'm not sure why but the GUI Desktop came up and not HUDiy.

I'm guessing it's because I have been using the GUI Desktop a lot and maybe even tweaked some things to make sure that it would come up (I'm really not sure).

So... I'm thinking that I could probably just launch the program manually if I knew what was installed and where (what to run and how?), so if someone could just give me a little pooosh (layman for "push") I'll probably be fine.

I figured out how to run the HUDiy app, and I was able to get my phone and the Pi connected via Bluetooth, but there's no sound coming out through the USB speaker that I have.

I know... ALL of the info is in GitHub (if you can understand it at all... which I can't), but I'm guessing there's just a simple setting somewhere which to turn it on.

Also, is there a "skin"/whatever that looks more like the Android Auto and how do I get it to just launch into that "skin"/whatever instead of the main HUDiy screen? ...and will that Android Auto "s"/w have a way to be able to get to the HUDiy screen to exit the entire app if I need access via RDP/SSH?

(I know... I'm high maintenance (or so my wife says ).)

I thought by running "$HOME/.hudiy/share/hudiy_run.sh" in my "$HOME/.bashrc" file would have the app run automatically upon boot-up but it did not...

I also still can't figure out how to get the sound to come out of my attached USB speaker from my phone (that IS attached via Bluetooth (even stating so in the app when I launch it manually)).

Also, I launched my Google Maps while the app was running and no Calendar/Driving stuff appeared in the app.

This app is SO reasonably priced... dirt cheap, actually. But if there's anyone on here that could give me a little guidance I'd sure appreciate it.

By default, Hudiy is configured to run automatically at system startup. If you installed Hudiy according to the instructions (without running the installer with sudo) and haven't modified any startup settings, Hudiy will launch automatically once the operating system loads.

I didn't install it as sudo... I did everything as the instructions stated.

I have eveything working fine now. I just want to know now how to get the Android Auto screen to be fullscreen upon bootup.

By default, Android Auto is configured to 480p resolution. You need to adjust the Android Auto resolution and the widthMargin/heightMargin to match your screen resolution.

The configuration parameters for changing the Android Auto resolution are located in the configuration file: $HOME/.hudiy/share/config/main_configuration.json

Please note that the .hudiy folder has a dot in its name, which means it's hidden. You can enable showing hidden files in the file manager using CTRL + H, or you can edit the files from the terminal using a tool like nano, for example: nano $HOME/.hudiy/share/config/main_configuration.json
