Re: 2009 Tacoma Build
I figured out a couple of things today.
The apple headphone DAC was indeed defaulted to a low output level. I was able to pactl get and set it out below. This value stick through a reboot, so I guess doesn't need to go into a startup script or anything.

Re: 2009 Tacoma Build
Alright, it's finally in the car and working! Need to look into a couple things:
* Volume level really low, don't want to turn up amp gain until I know I need to...
* De-bouncing the acc line when I need to start the engine but the hu is already on in standby when the screen off.
* Steering wheel ...

Re: 2009 Tacoma Build
Alright, the wiring is pretty much done. I got a 4-pin connector to take care of ground, power, switched ignition power, and the blue switched amp wire. The thing's a little messy, but works. I've been putting hot glue on everything I don't want to worry about rattling loose in the dash.

Re: Powering the Raspberry PI5 in the car
This module was cool:

Any other idea to switch off automaticly the Pi?
You can use an optocouple to sense the acc line (~12v) from the car and set a gpio pin high/low to trigger a shutdown. I'm using one of these: https://www ...

I'm using one of these. 5v 20a buck converter. Works well so far:

Re: 2009 Tacoma Build
Finally made some more progess today. I've had a really hard time understanding the api examples, but found the code from the land rover build here and was able to strip that down to a basic working script to pass commands to hudiy. Also got a more raw-packet type example working, and script that ...

Re: No audio. Sometimes....
I'm seeing similar behavior in trixie. Had to do "pactl unload-module module-echo-cancel" and then I get audio output.

I'll look forward to seeing a photo of this stuff in your dash! How are you mounting the square android auto display?

Re: 2009 Tacoma Build
Kind of in parallel, I'm working on a few related things:
* I discovered tailscale last week and have proceeded to add all of my machines to a tailnet. It makes it massively easy to ssh into all of my systems no matter where they are, what network they're connected to, etc. So this is great for this ...
